Vinod Kumar misleading us, alleges Jeevan Reddy
Hyderabad: Telangana Congress MLC T. Jeevan Reddy says that the collectors should state facts to the people.
He asked the collectors who are scheduled to visit Kaleswaram project to also visit Tummidihatti.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Mr Jeevan Reddy asked Telangana Planning Board vice-chairman B. Vinod Kumar to give priority to the interests of the state and not limit himself to speaking like a TRS leader.
Mr Jeevan Reddy said that Mr Kumar’s allegation that the visit of Congress leaders to Tummidihatti was to mislead the people was incorrect. He accused Mr Kumar of misleading the people by claiming that the state government has requested the Centre to announce Kaleswaram as national project.
The Congress leader said that the Union water resources minister in Parliament said that the TS government had made no such request.
Mr Jeevan Reddy asked if the Union minister’s statement was incorrect, why the TRS MPs had not moved a privilege motion against him in Parliament. He said that the state government did not send Detail Project Report on Kaleswaram to the Centre as they were wary that their commissions may be exposed.
He said that Kaleswaram has become more of a tourist spot than an irrigation project.
The MLC alleged that the TRS government has given contract for lift water from Kaleswaram on nomination basis for commissions. He demanded the state government cancel the contracts and call for global tenders.
