Kishan Reddy writes to KCR on establishing Science City

Kishan Reddy said such a facility would encourage students to look up to science and also serve as a tourist attraction

HYDERABAD: Union minister G. Kishan Reddy has written to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to take steps for establishing a ‘Science City’ in Hyderabad. He said that in a previous letter in May, he had also informed that the National Council for Science Museums, based in Kolkata, would assist the state in preparing a detailed project report for the purpose.

Kishan Reddy said such a facility would encourage students to look up to science and also serve as a tourist attraction.

He said Hyderabad which is home to scientific institutes of repute including the CCMB, NGRI, NIN, IICT, CFSL, CDFD, INCOIS, DMRL and IIIT, has everything going for it for setting up the Science City. Urging Chandrashekar Rao to take special interest in the project and allot 25 acres of land, and send a detailed project report, Kishan Reddy said this should be done at the earliest.

He said he had previously written to the Chief Secretary on December 15, 2021, and then again on May 6 this year on the subject but there has been no response from Telangana on the matter so far.
