DMK trying to gain political mileage on Neet: Tamilisai Soundararajan
Govt failed to prepare students despite being given time'.

Chennai: The BJP on Saturday took strong exception to the State government’s stand on Neet (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test) and also slammed the DMK for attempting to seek political mileage by opposing this national eligibility test.
“No state was given so much time as Tamil Nadu, yet the government failed to prepare the students to face the common entrance test,” BJP state president Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan said. During the meeting in Delhi, she had expressed her views on Neet, she said and added, “the Central government is always keen at protecting the interests of students of Tamil Nadu.”
Appealing to the political parties in TN not to politicise Neet and also not to drag the students into this controversy, she justified the need to conduct the examination for the students seeking admission to medical colleges.
Dr Tamilisai denied MDMK chief Vaiko’s allegation that the two Bills sent by Tamil Nadu Assembly to the Centre seeking Presidential assent have been confined to the trash bin and said this was totally false.
At Karaikudi in Sivaganga district in the state, the party’s national secretary H. Raja claimed that the private medical colleges alone were opposed to Neet.
Making political entry Kamal’s wish
BJP national secretary H. Raja who appeared to soften his stand on the veteran actor Kamal Haasan’s debut into politics, said, “it is Kamal’s wish on whether or not to enter politics.” He was reacting to a question posed by reporters in Karaikudi on Saturday.
Earlier this month Raja had told reporters in Pudukottai that the BJP would oppose Kamal Haasan’s entry into politics as the actor is an “atheist to the core” and has “attacked Hindu beliefs and sentiments.”
