Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, who began the first phase of his Varahi Yatra from Annavaram on June 14, would conclude it at Bhimavaram in West Godavari district on Friday.
He was defeated in Bhimavaram in the 2019 elections against YSRC candidate Grandhi Srinivas. Jana Sena activists expect that he would reenter the fray in Bhimavaram in the 2024 elections to shore up his image. He stayed in Bhimavaram for the past three days and met several community leaders.
Pawan Kalyan appreciated the charity of the Kshatriya community towards developing the school education sector and other activities.
According to sources, the Kshatriya community did not support him in 2019. This time, due to the prevailing political conditions in the constituency, they might back him.
Pawan Kalyan said in his speeches in Konaseema district that cine actors like Prabhas (Bhimavaram), Raviteja, Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, Jr NTR and others behaved like friends to him. Similarly, he hoped that their fans too would be nice to him and vote for him.
However, for the past three days, Pawan Kalyan did not directly criticise Bhimavaram MLA G Srinivas, unlike his attacks on Kakinada MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhara. He, however, indirectly criticised him in the cadres’ meeting. Jana Sena activists are anxiously waiting to know whether he would openly criticise the MLA or not.
At present, the MLA is facing dissidence from some sections of the people, in particular the Kshatriya community.
