Chandrababu \"copied\" manifesto from Karnataka Congress: YSRC
KAKINADA: Kakinada Rural MLA and former agriculture minister Kurasala Kannababu said on Monday that the Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu “copied the manifesto from Karnataka Congress,” as he wanted to “cheat the people again” with false promises.
The MLA told the media here that as a chief minister, Naidu made promises of loan waiver to farmers and self-help groups, lifting of belt shops etc in his 2014 poll manifesto. “But Chandrababu did not fulfill any of these promises during his five-year term.”
He said that in the 2014 elections, Chandrababu made 650 poll promises, but did not fulfill even 10 per cent of these.
Kannababu criticised Chandrababu for celebrating the birth centenary of NT Rama Rao and said Chandrababu had back-stabbed , when he was alive, and his photos were thrown into the bathrooms. Now, he garlanded NTR statues and photos.
He said the Chandrababu era in AP is ending. The people would not believe in either Chandrababu or in his poll promises through the TD manifesto as they have already had bitter experiences during his rule in the past.
He said that Telugu Desam is now on ventilator and it can never win the polls as Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has won for himself a place in the hearts of the people by fulfilling 98.5 per cent of the YSRC’s 2019 poll promises. He compared Mahanadu with a “drama company’’ that spent most of its time criticising Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Mahanadu utter flop: Dy Chief Minister Kottu
Deputy chief minister and endowment minister Kottu Satyanarayana dismissed the Telugu Desam Mahanadu as an “utter flop’’ show. The party expected 15 lakh people, but there were not even 50,000 people at the public meeting,” he said.
He told the media at Tadepalligudem on Monday that most of the people attending the meeting were from the same social group linked to Chandrababu. Mahanadu was not a political party’s meeting, it was limited to one particular social segment, he alleged.
He said that during the 2014 elections, Chandrababu Naidu promised to give the youth Rs. 2,000 every month as unemployment dole. But he did not fulfill his promise and cheated the youth. How could the people believe Chandrababu Naidu now, he asked and said the 2024 elections would be the TD’s last election appearance.
