Mysuru: JD(S) supremo H.D. Deve Gowda on Sunday ruled out any alliance with the BJP or the Congress. “The JD(S) may get majority or not, but by keeping the BJP and Congress at bay, we will come to power and form the government,” he said.
“The gift for my this year’s birthday (May 18) is God’s will. You wait till then. There is a need for a regional party in the state. There are four agencies and they predict that the JD(S) will get 36 or 40 seats. I am not bothered about these surveys. We will get more seats than the BJP and Congress,” he said.
On Mr Siddaramaiah’s repeated statements targeting JD(S) state president and his son H.D. Kumaraswamy saying, “In your father’s name, you will never come to power”, Mr Gowda retorted saying, “In your father’s name, you (Siddu) won’t come to power again.
This is the reward I get for addressing him affectionately as Siddaramu. I have not ignored any class. I have brought people from all communities to power. Did I not nourish Siddaramaiah, Ibrahim, Zameer Ahmed and others? It is probably my bad karma... People whom I nurture stab me in the back.”
