Congress a drama company, says Ananth Kumar Hegde

The Congress leaders committed murders of Hindus and then enjoyed parties with terrorists from Kerala, said Mr Hegde.

Belagavi: BJP leader and Union Minister for Skill Development Ananth Kumar Hegde has called Congress party a ‘drama company’ and termed Rahul Gandhi's ongoing temple visits as a sign of desperation to woo voters in the run up to May 12 assembly election. “Rahul Gandhi is enacting an elaborate drama before the people of Karnataka ahead of elections. He is wearing different costumes for various occasions,'' said Hegde while addressing a BJP rally at Tigadolli, Khanapur taluk on Sunday. After all these years, Rahul realised of the existence of Hinduism and that was why he began his temple run in desperation. Under the pretext of visiting temples, Gandhi was merely staging a drama, he said. “He is dressing up for the occasion to enter temples and different religious places. Mr Gandhi has no idea of how to accept teertha (holy water) given to devotees in temples,’’ Hegde said. He wore a saffron shawl around his neck while visiting temples, wore a traditional cap while visiting mosques and a cross when he entered churches. “I request him to go to the pilgrimage centre of Shravanabelagola too. He should be dressed appropriately while going there,” Mr Hegde said, asking the crowd whether they understood what he actually meant to say. The country will not develop if this drama company called Congress is in power, he remarked and said the party was not concerned about the welfare of Hindus and Hindutva. The BJP would not have bothered about who became its MLA but it never compromised on issues related to Hinduism, he said. The Congress leaders committed murders of Hindus and then enjoyed parties with terrorists from Kerala. They also had night parties with groups like PFI, he added.
