YSRC to hold dharnas from May 2
Hyderabad: The YSRC will hold dharnas at all mandal and constituency headquarters on May 2 to highlight the alleged failure of the TD government in mitigating the severe drought conditions.
Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, along with senior leaders, will take part in the dharna at Macharla in Guntur district.
YSRC leader K. Parthasaradhi told the media on Friday that the government had failed in tackling the severe drought and had not spelled out a contingency plan.
“As a result there is acute drinking water shortage and lack of fodder to livestock while the government has laid its priority in buying MLAs and logging the tally on a daily basis leaving people in the lurch,” he said.
He said the YSRC was protesting against the inefficiency and indifference of the government in planning to tackle the drought.
He said while the state was facing a severe drought, the TD seemed to be facing a drought of MLAs which is being tackled with priority while the people are left to their devices.
“There were no instructions to the collectors ahead of the summer season regarding any contingency plan,” he said.
The YSRC leader said the TD government was misleading people.
