I won't join Telugu Desam, says Vanthada Rajeswari
KAKINADA: Rampachodavaram MLA Vanthada Rajeswari said she has not quit the YSRC and joined the TD along with other two MLAs — Jyothula Venkata Appa Rao (Nehru) and Varupula Subba Rao (Prathipadu). She also made a statement that she was not considering such a proposal.
When Mr Nehru announced his intention to quit the YSRC, it was expected that Ms Rajeswari may follow suit. But the political equations in Rampachodavaram are preventing her from taking such a step. Two former TD MLAs, Seethamsetty Venkateswara Rao and Ch. Babu Ramesh, are competing for the upper hand in the constituency. If Ms Rajeswari joins the TD now, her political prospectus are very bleak.
There is another factor at work: She is politically very close to Mr Ananta Udaya Bhaskar who played a key role in getting her the YSRC ticket from Rampachodavaram . He wants her to contest from Jaggamnpet constituency to take on Mr Nehru when elections are held.
Mr Udaya Bhaskar is very close to YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy after having worked in the Congress under the leadership of former CM Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, when Mr Nehru was in the TD. Ms Rajeswari made it clear that she would continue in the YSRC under the leadership of Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy. She said that she was fighting to address the problems in the agency area.
Telugu desam offered me Rs 20crore: Vanthada Rajeswari
YSRC MLA from Rampachodavaram G Rajeswari claimed that she was offered Rs 20 crore to join TD. She said she was elected as an MLA only because of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Another MLA, Giddi Eswari says she will not defect the party even if she is offered Rs 100 crore. She alleged that TD has been resorting to conspiracy to harm YSRC. She warned the leaders who are joining TD and said that people will never forgive them.
