AP ministers hit city roads

n Half of AP Cabinet campaigns for TD-BJP.

Hyderabad:Most of the Cabinet ministers from AP are out on the streets of Hyderabad, moving from lane to lane with folded hands, seeking votes for the party’s candidates in the GHMC elections.With just two days left for campaigning, over half-a-dozen AP ministers have descended on Hyderabad to brighten the poll prospects of the party candidates.

While AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is conducting roadshows to get in touch with voters, his Cabinet colleagues have fanned out in municipal areas wooing voters in all wards being contested by TD-BJP candidates.While ministers Paritala Sunitha and Peethala Sujatha are going all out to woo voters saying that it was Mr Naidu who had formed SHGs, then called as DWCRA women groups, Palle Raghunatha Reddy, who holds the IT portfolio in AP, is focusing on areas in Hitec City.

“Today, we stand in the midst of IT companies at Madhapur. These developments of roads and flyovers along with IT companies that created lakhs of jobs were brought by Naidu during his 9-year rule prior to 2004,” Mr Raghunatha Reddy told voters to thunderous applause.

Ms Sunitha told the voters in Jubilee Hills that she has come to them not as a minister from AP but as a woman and as a TD worker. “You voters should ask what the TRS has done for Hyderabad. When you look back at the development done during Naidu’s rule, you will realize that no other party deserves to get your vote,” she said.

AP transport minister Siddha Raghava Rao has been leading padayatras, bike rallies and addressing street corner meetings in divisions where Seemandhra voters are in large numbers.AP ministers D. Uma Maheswara Rao, Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Ch Ayyanna Patrudu and Ravela Kishore Babu too have been busy campaigning for TD-BJP candidates. A senior TD leader said that the ministers were making trips to and from Hyderabad so that administration is not affected in AP.
