AP CID issues notice to Lokesh over Red Book threat

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh CID has sent notice to Telugu Desam national general secretary Nara Lokesh in relation to the Red Book threat.

The CID officials approached the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court, alleging that Lokesh had been threatening them regarding the Red Book. Following court instructions, the CID officials sent the notice to Lokesh via WhatsApp on Friday.

Lokesh confirmed receipt of the notice through a reply to the CID on WhatsApp.

The ACB court has postponed further hearings on the matter to January 9. It may be recalled that Lokesh, during his Yuvagalam padayatra meetings, stated that he wrote the names of officials and leaders who were involved in harassment of TD cadres, corruption, and illegalities and affirmed that he would take stern action after TD assumed power in the 2024 elections.

He threatened to impose severe punishments against the people whose names were in the Red Book and used to show the book in every meeting during his walkathon.
