Vijayawada: YSR Congress that is set to demand legal status to Minimum Support Prices to crops would seek MSP to 24 agriculture commodities, approval to Disha bill and other issues in the Parliament’s winter session starting today.
The YSRC MPs on Sunday said they would raise their voice in Parliament seeking fulfillment of the assurances given to AP during the time of the new state formation. The YSRC welcomes the repeal of agricultural laws by the central government, they said.
YSRC MPs said that, as for MSP, their party would press on the Union Government to form a joint parliamentary committee to conduct talks with stakeholders, farmers and farmers’ associations and provide legal status to MSP.
They said the central government has given support price only for 23 agricultural crops, whereas chief minister Jaganmohan Reddy is providing MSP in the state to 24 other commodities. They said the YSRC would demand of the Union Government to provide MSP to 24 agricultural crops.
Further, the YSRC MPs would raise the Polavaram issue as regards the project cost escalation to Rs 55,657 crore and get it approved by the Centre. The Centre was yet to pay arrears of Rs 1,703 crore to AP civil supplies corporation, apart from the Rs 4976.51 crore under the Employment Guarantee Scheme.
Post bifurcation, Telangana State had utilized power from Andhra Pradesh and left dues of `6112 crore. Hence, the MPs would raise the issue and seek immediate release of the dues.
The YSRC MPs would also raise the issues of BC Census, Privatisation of Visakha Steel Plant and theBC Census, Privatisation of Visakha Steel Plant urge the Centre to provide financial assistance in building basic infrastructure in Jagananna Colonies....
