HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao went all guns blazing at Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre accusing it of failing miserably on all fronts during the last seven-year of its rule.
He also attacked union tourism minister G. Kishan Reddy and union food minister Piyush Goyal for their 'inconsistent statements' on paddy procurement of Telangana.
Addressing a press conference at Pragathi Bhavan here on Monday, Rao even termed Kishan Reddy and Piyush Goyal as 'shameless' saying if they had siggu, lajja (shame), they should open their eyes and look at the reality where India stood in the world in the Global Hunger Index.
Rao predicted that Modi would definitely tender 'unconditional apologies' to Telangana farmers for refusing to procure paddy from Telangana sooner or later like he tendered apologies to farmers recently for bringing farm laws.
Rao also described the BJP government at the Centre as 'wicked' and said this "wicked government" should be shown the door if this country had to progress and prosper. He said the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) would wage a battle and go to any extent and fight against the Modi government, come what may, to protect the interests of poor and farmers adding that the Centre was adopting anti-farmer, anti-people and anti-middle class policies and only benefitting Adanis and Ambanis.
Rao stated that the TRS government would fight against the Electricity Amendment Bill tooth and nail both inside and outside Parliament, which imposed restrictions on state governments to extend power subsidies to farmers and other needy sections and also aims to privatise the power sector.
Rao demanded the Centre to procure entire paddy not just from Telangana but all the states and feed the poor and the needy as India fared worse than Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal etc in the Global Hunger Index release.
He accused the Modi government of pushing India into a debt trap in its seven-year rule by taking loans of Rs 80,000 crore while it was just Rs 60,000 crore by all previous governments put together.
"Despite taking that many loans, the Modi government achieved nothing in any sector. There is not a single achievement of the Modi government which it can boast of," he said.
He accused the Modi government of destroying the social fabric of India and Telangana by ripping up regional and communal passions to gain votes.
