Congress is BJP's B-team: Kodiyeri Balakrishnan
Thiruvananthapuram: By refusing to come on board for a joint agitation against the Centre's conspiracy to destroy the cooperative banking sector in the state, the Congress had turned into 'B' team of the BJP, said CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. Kodiyeri said KPCC president V.M. Sudheeran was playing into the hands of the BJP to weaken the agitation against Centre's dubious move to destroy the cooperative sector under the garb of demonetisation.
He was inaugurating the march held in connection with the hartal organised by the LDF against Centre on Monday. The CPM leader said the Congress had initially agreed to join hands with the Left parties to defeat the Centre's move against cooperative banks. However, they changed their stand later and decided to go alone. The Congress leadership should make it clear before the people as to what prompted them to back out from the joint agitation, Kodiyeri has demanded. Kodiyeri accused the BJP of acting as the agent of private banks in the country.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was coming out with dramatic decisions to hide his government's complete failure on all fronts. The CPM leader said the prime minister who had made tall promises on bringing back black money stashed in foreign banks and depositing Rs 15 lakh in each one's account, had failed to put even 15 paisa. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said Modi had humiliated the people of the state by declining to meet an all party delegation led by chief minister to discuss cooperative sector crisis.
