HYDERABAD: Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said that the arrest of former Chief Minister and TD president N. Chandrababu Naidu and putting such a senior politician in jail for the past 49 days was a cruel act and political vendetta.
Speaking at the Kamma Athmeeya meeting in Varni on Saturday, Pocharam said Naidu was arrested on technical grounds. His family and entire TD cadre came onto the streets in his support, he said.
He recalled that his political guru and former MLA Srinivas Rao was from the Kamma community, which is known for best agricultural practices and helping others and supported him a lot when he was elected as MLA for the first time in 1994.
