MP: BJP final list of candidates for MP, Shivraj aide gets re-nomination for Vidisha

BHOPAL: BJP on Sunday released its sixth and final list of two candidates for poll-bound Madhya Pradesh.

The party has re-nominated Mukesh Tondon, said to be a close aide of chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, in Vidisha assembly constituency, while fielding former MLA Panna Lal Shakya in Guna (SC) assembly seat.

Mr Shakya has replaced the sitting BJP MLA Gopi Lal Jatav in Guna.

Mr Jatav is believed to be an adversary of Union civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. Mr Tondon had lost the elections in Vidisha assembly seat in 2018 by a margin of over 15,000 votes to his nearest Congress rival Sri Krishna Bhargav. Mr Bhargav has been re-nominated by the grand old party in the seat in the November polls. Mr Shakya had won the Guna (SC) seat in 2013 assembly polls, but was denied a ticket by BJP in 2018 polls.

With this, BJP has declared candidates in all the 230 assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh.

Congress has already declared its candidates in all the 230 assembly seats in the state.

MP is going to the assembly polls on November 17. The filing of nomination for the November assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh is scheduled to end on Monday.
