Hyderabad's development not linked to BRS, says BJP

Hyderabad: BJP senior leader and Madhya Pradesh in-charge Muralidhar Rao questioned the comments made by finance and health minister T. Harish Rao that Hyderabad will face the fate of Amaravathi in Andhra Pradesh if the BRS was not brought back to power in Telangana. He said Hyderabad has a long history even before the Nizams, and well before the BRS came into existence.

Speaking to reporters at the party office here on Sunday, Muralidhar Rao said, “Hyderabad was there even before K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Harish Rao and the Nizam were born. It was the centre for cultural heritage about 450 years ago and played a vital role as a great business, cultural and trade centre. Is BRS ready for an open debate on the subject?” asked Muralidhar Rao.

Stating that there was no link between the BRS government and Hyderabad, he said, “The ruling party had no role in making it a centre for Tollywood, manufacture of generic medicines, hub for making vaccines or the hub of various universities.”

Expressing concern about the encroachment of several tanks and lakes in the city, he said, “They were grabbed by the BRS mafia who will be sent to jail once the BJP comes to power. Terming both the BRS and the Congress as partners, the BJP leader said both the parties are trying to divert public attention from the family and corrupt rule.”

He has questioned the rationale behind the BRS being silent on the Hamas attacks on Israel and police allowing rallies in support of Hamas in the city. He accused both the BRS and the Congress of supporting the politics of Majlis for votes, and said no rallies in support of terrorists will be tolerated if the BJP comes to power.

Stating that the tacit understanding between the BRS and the Congress is dangerous to the nation, he appealed to the public to vote for the BJP and support the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
