Harish Thanks DKS for Free Power Comment

HYDERABAD: Minister T. Harish Rao thanked Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar for saying that the Congress government in Karnataka was supplying five hours of power to the agriculture sector. He ridiculed the challenge thrown by Shivakumar to BRS leaders to visit Karnataka to ascertain whether the Congress was implementing the promises made to people during the Assembly polls there.

Harish Rao was referring to the comments made by Shivakumar on Saturday when he addressed street corners meetings in Tandur and Parigi.

Addressing a public meeting in Narsapur constituency in Medak district on Sunday, Harish Rao said, "Shivakumar said that he will arrange a bus for BRS leaders to visit Karnataka. Where is the need to visit Karnataka when Shivakumar himself said that they were supplying five-hour power to agriculture? He said this in Telangana where 24-hour free power is being supplied by the BRS government."

Dubbing the "Karnataka model" being propagated by Congress in Telangana as a "failure model", Harish Rao said, "Who needs the Karnataka model where only five hours of power is being supplied to agriculture? Who needs the Karnataka model where indiscriminate power cuts are being imposed across all sectors? Telangana gives 24-hour power to all sectors. It's not been six months since the Congress government took over in Karnataka. But it is already facing severe anger from the people due to its maladministration and corruption."

Harish Rao stated that the Congress had dug its own grave in Telangana with Shivakumar’s comments.

" Revanth Reddy says three-hour power to agriculture is enough in Telangana. Shivakumar says they are giving five-hour power to agriculture. Now it's up to farmers in Telangana to decide whether they want Congress which gives 3 to 5 hours of power or BRS which gives 24 hours power," Harish Rao said.
