Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Employees Union (GHMEU) president U. Gopal joined the BRS on Saturday.
The union had favoured the BJP for years but Gopal joined the ruling party following differences with BJP members.
The GHMEU also held several protests against BRS demanding better pay and better health care facilities for GHMC sanitation workers.
