Congress leaders denied tickets deciding on next steps

Adilabad: Congress leaders of erstwhile Adilabad district, who have been denied party tickets, are holding meetings with their supporters and well-wishers to decide on their next course of action.

They had not responded positively when the candidates who got the tickets contacted them seeking cooperation, particularly in Khanapur, Asifabad, Boath, Adilabad, and Mudhole assembly constituencies.

In fact, ticket aspirants from the Adilabad constituency – TPCC general secretary Gandrath Sujatha, former Adilabad market committee chairman Sanjeev Reddy, and DCC president Sajid Khan have got together to oppose the candidature of Kandi Srinivas Reddy, who has been allotted the Congress ticket.

News is that Sanjeev Reddy is planning to contest as an independent candidate with support from other leaders who have been denied the party tickets.
Dr. Kiran Kumar and Vijay Kumar Reddy, who have been denied party tickets, plan to contest as independent candidates from Mudhole.

Adivasi leader and TPCC general secretary Marsakola Saraswathy, Mahila Congress district president Charulatha Rathod, and tribal wing state vice president Bharath Chowhan are in a rebellious mood.

It is said leaders denied party tickets are organising a meeting in Ichoda on Monday to decide their future course of action. Some of them could enter the fray as independents or rebel candidates.

It is not yet known how the Congress high command will deal with dissidence in the forthcoming assembly general elections.
