We Will Remove Muslim Quota and Earmark it for BCs: Kishan Reddy

HYDERABAD: BJP state president and Union minister G. Kishan Reddy said that they will remove Muslim reservations and extend the benefit to members of the Backward Classes communities. He stated that the BJP would intensify its campaign from November 3. Many Union ministers and central leaders are set to participate.

Addressing several leaders who had joined the party from Adilabad and Peddapalli districts here on Sunday, Reddy said the names for rest of the seats will be announced soon.

Reddy said that Union home minister Amit Shah’s announcement at Suryapet of making a BC community candidate as Chief Minister was a path-breaking idea.

“For several decades agitations have been taking place seeking the CM post to BCs, which has eluded them all along. The people have taken our announcement in the right earnest. For the first time in history, a BC community person, Narendra Modi, was made Prime Minister. He has been delivering a corruption-free administration. Several BC organisations are passing resolutions in support of the BJP,” he said, while reminding them that BJP has always been known to honour its word.

He said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had not named a woman minister in his first term. “While 50 seats were reserved for BC communities in Hyderabad, 37 seats were taken away by MIM in the name of minority reservations. The community is being taken for a ride in the name of minority reservations. We will remove provision for minority reservations in our first Cabinet meeting,” Reddy said.

He alleged that both the BRS and the Congress were are under the control of the AIMIM and these leaders could not enter Old City without permission. “Officials are unable to visit Old City to collect power bills. They are being attacked. This will not be tolerated once we come to power. Our Chief Minister will be available to the public instead of being confined to farmhouses,” he said and urged the public to vote for BJP in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
