YSRC taking Budvel by-election seriously, says Sajjala Ramakrishna

There is no comparison between the Nandyal and Badvel bypolls. Chandrababu Naidu took it as a big challenge by splurging over Rs 100 crore

VIJAYAWADA: Dasari Sudha is the natural choice as YSRC candidate for the Budvel assembly by-election scheduled for October 30, said party general secretary and adviser to government, Sajjala Ramakrishna here on Tuesday.

He said the YSRC sticks to the tradition of giving its ticket to the family of the deceased MLA, and Dasari Venkata Subbaiah's wife Dasari Sudha came as the natural choice. If the TD followed the tradition, the election would be unanimous. “Even if the Opposition fields a candidate, we are certain to win the seat with a huge margin,” he claimed.

The adviser came down heavily on Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan for his "loose" comments against the government. “There is no comparison between the Nandyal and Badvel by-elections. Chandrababu Naidu took it as a big challenge by splurging over Rs 100 crore,” he said.

He said this election is an opportunity to explain to the people as to what the YSRC government has done in the last two years.”We want to take the public’s opinion on this.”

“The results of a series of elections from 2019 to date have proven that the people are always on the side of Chief Minister Jagan and the ruling party is sure this will be so in future too,” he said.

Reddy, responding to comments made by Jana Sena Party Chief Pawan Kalyan, asserted that the state government is trying to do good to the film industry by being a facilitator by introducing the online ticket system. “While several sections of the industry are welcoming the government’s move, Pawan Kalyan is indulging in mud-slinging. Some prominent people in the film sector are considering him as a huge burden on the industry, and fear the industry would get into trouble because of him.”

The adviser said the state government is ready to cooperate with the film industry. Distributors and exhibitors are happy with the online ticketing system as this means transparency. If the film industry still has any doubt, its representatives can meet the CM and get things clarified.”
