Hyderabad: A fight was averted by timely police intervention after actor Posani Krishna Murali called a press meet at the Somajiguda Press Club on Tuesday evening to say that he faced a threat from the Jana Sena and its chief Pawan Kalyan’s fans association.
As the press meet progressed, some PK fans and JS members tried to enter the premises. Police came onto the scene, the intruding men were stopped and a few of them taken into custody.
Panjagutta sub-inspector Shivakrishna said that it was around 6.30 pm while he was patrolling in Somajiguda that he got to know some people had gathered at the Press Club in protest against Murali’s press meet.
The patrol reached the spot and noticed ten people belonging to Jana Sena and the Pavan Kalyan fans trying to intrude into the hall. “They were shifted to Panjagutta police station,” the SI said.
