Amit Shah to walk to Vayalar Jr song
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP national president Amit Shah will walk in Kannur district for two days coinciding with BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan’s Janaraksha Yatra to the lyrics of Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma and Anil Panachooran. The music album will be released in Thiruvananthapuram on October 1 by the top brass of the party. BJP state leadership had approached Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma, a prominent lyricist in Malayalam film industry to pen a few poems for the BJP’s political protest against CPM’s political violence.
Their main request to the legendary son of revolutionary lyricist Vayalar Ramava-rma who penned the song Balikudeer-angale and tuned by Devarajan, was to pen two songs. Vayalar and Devarajan composed the legendary song for martyrs who laid down their life for the country. “The music was directed by Jaison J. Nair and sung by Madhu Balakrishnan and Anoop Sankar. We feel that Vayalar’s son Sarath who was always associated with the Left is now penning songs for BJP and Amit Shah walking to his lines reveals that times are changing,” a BJP leader said. Vayalar Sarath, 57, confirmed that he has penned two songs.
“I don’t have politics. When the BJP leaders approached me to write songs for them, I did it wholeheartedly. I consider it as a part of my profession. I have written songs for the Congress too,” he said. Another lyricist Anil Panachooran has written a poem on “love jihad”. “Anil penning a poem on love jihad is appropriate when BJP leaders set on foot for the 53-km yatra in Kannur. Later, Mr Shah will join Kummanam at the fag end of the yatra at Thiruvananthapuram on October 16,” said a senior BJP leader.
