KPCC President Sudheeran condemns Pinarayi Vijayan's statements

He added that the protest would continue until the real accused were booked.

Kozhikode: KPCC president V.M. Sudheeran on Wednesday condemned the violence unleashed on the striking Youth Congress leaders in Thiruvananthapuram and said that nobody believes what Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan says. "Mr Vijayan sees only narrow politics in every issue in the state," he said.

"The police threw grenade at the satyagraha venue which everyone saw. Now he says that nothing like that happened, though others witnessed it," he said.

He was inaugurating a protest march staged by the UDF district committee in front of the collectorate demanding the immediate arrest of the accused in the Aslam murder case and compensation to the family of the victim. "The CM should understand that the Youth Congress, KSU or any other UDF organisation do not need rented people to organise a protest. We are well-equipped to do that," he said and added that the CM, also holding the Home portfolio, was trying to protect the criminals in the Aslam murder case.

Mr Sudheeran recollected how the then chief minister Oommen Chandy had intervened to arrange compensation for the family of Shibin in Thuneri and how the compensation was delayed to the family of Aslam. He added that the protest would continue until the real accused were booked.
