CM Pinarayi Vijayan vows justice to poor students

Government will also help students for taking bank loan after the final fixation of fee by the committee, if needed, he said.

Kochi: Even as the State government cut a sorry figure landing students and parents in despair in the private medical college admission issue, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan sought to assure them that no poor student who “qualified” for medical admission will be denied the chance to study. He said in a facebook post on Monday evening that the government will ensure that no student will be denied the opportunity to study because he/she doesn’t have the wherewithal to provide bank guarantee.

He also said that Justice Rajendra Babu Committee, which is given the mandate to finally fix the fee, will be asked to arrive at the final fee at the earliest. Government will also help students for taking bank loan after the final fixation of fee by the committee, if needed, he said. Meanwhile Health Minister K K Shylaja expressed sadness over the SC verdict in the case on Monday. She said that it was a case of the managements scoring victory in the court and it was not a setback for the government but it landed students in a difficult situation. She also said that the government will continue efforts to bridle the private medical managements.
