Congress ignoring lower rungs of society: Bomma

The Congress must care for all communities equally if it aspires to come to power in the next assembly elections

Karimnagar: The Congress must care for all communities equally if it aspires to come to power in the next assembly elections, observed the party’s Husnabad assembly segment incharge Bomma Sriram.

A meeting of the Congress leaders was held under the leadership of block Congress president Komati Satyanarayana in Husnabad on Thursday.

Bomma alleged that the party leadership is not considering the services it got from the weaker sections and was giving more importance to leaders from the upper levels of the society.

When all the leaders opposed the re-joining of Praveen Reddy from the ruling TRS, the Congress leadership quietly took him to Delhi and made a party member.

“My father, former MLA late Bomma Venkanna rendered services to the Congress for more than 50 years and being loyal to the party. I am serving the party for the past 20 years in Husnabad. But the party leadership is not recognizing my services," he alleged.

If the party allots assembly tickets to the newly joined members, it will face the heat of the local leaders, he warned.

Congress leaders Lingamurthy, Mallesham, B Shankar, B Chandu, J Ailaiah, M Dharmaiah, K Tirupati Reddy, G Srinivas, A Srinivas, K Swarna Latha, B Sarojana, V Raju were present.
