Narendra Modi trying to garner AIADMK votes: MK Stalin
Chennai: DMK working president M.K. Stalin on Friday charged Prime Minister Narendra Modi with singing the praise of former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa at a function to inaugurate the memorial of former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, with the aim of garnering AIADMK votes.
“Modi, who is knocking at the backdoor of state politics to gain a foothold in Tamil Nadu had euologised Jayalalithaa found guilty in a corruption by the Supreme Court”, he said in a letter to cadre in party organ ‘Murasoli’. The Prime Minister had also lauded AIADMK founder MGR, in an attempt to get AIADMK votes, Stalin said.
Stalin also said Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami, who attended the public meeting along with Modi, should have openly spoken about exempting Tamil Nadu from Neet and got a public response from the Prime Minister.
Charging the AIADMK government with double-speak on Neet issue, the DMK leader said the AIADMK is expressing support Neet exemption, but at heart, they remain slaves to their Delhi masters. This is showed through their denial of permission to the DMK’s human chain protest demanding exemption for Neet.
The AIADMK government had filed cases against those who took part in the human chain protest, alleging that the normal life of people was affected by the agitations. It had only exposed the drama enacted by the ruling party, he alleged.
Despite the state government’s attempts to suppress the agitation, the human chain protest was held from Chennai to Kanyakumari throughout the state, he added.
The DMK would continue its efforts to protect students from Neet and expose the dual act of the ruling party on the issue. Those who voted for the AIADMK last time are looking for the collapse of the government, which lies at the feet of Delhi rulers, he said.

Speaking to the media, he said it is not known if the state government spoke about the issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also likened the AIADMK to a circus company with many buffoons and ring masters.
