Hyderabad: TRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has instructed party leaders not to participate in debates conducted by electronic channels.
In a party meeting held on Thursday at Telangana Bhavan, Mr Rao said, “Party leaders have been participating in debates conducted by electronic channels without consulting the party for its stand on the issues that such debates might concern. As a result, we end up with different party leaders preaching different ideologies.” He has asked party leaders to abstain from such participation until further notice.
While other political parties have official spo-kespersons and a separate panel of leaders to attend such debates, the TRS has no such arrangement. As a result, TRS leaders upon receiving invites from channels end up participating on their own accord.
TRS leaders said they will prepare a panel of leaders for participation in TV debates.
