VIJAYAWADA: The state government has further scaled down the security cover for former chief minister and the leader of the Opposition in the Assembly N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Two chief security officers along with 15 personnel led by three reserve inspectors (RI) have been withdrawn now. When Mr Naidu was the leader of the Opposition from 2004 to 2014, he used to have security cover comprising an additional SP, a DSP, three RIs as well as other personnel to provide protection to him.
But now he has been provided two plus two security personnel comprising police constables.
After Mr Naidu escaped a Maoist attack, he was provided Z Plus security cover along with NSG protection.
