Vistarak is BJP's way of keeping party workers fighting fit for Assembly polls

Over 25,000 people gathered at Hoovinahadagali in Ballari district for a meeting.

State BJP chief B.S. Yeddyurappa who has drawn flak from his rival parties for his breakfast meetings with Dalits around the state, claimed on Wednesday that they were a big success and people from the scheduled castes and tribes were now responding in huge number to the BJP.

"Over 25,000 people gathered at Hoovinahadagali in Ballari district for a meeting," he said, addressing the first state level Vistarak meeting at the party office in Bengaluru. Advising party workers to categorise voters into three categories to help maximise the BJP's votes in the assembly poll, he explained that voters in the "A" category should be classified as BJP supporters, those in the 'B' category as leaning towards it and voters in the 'C' category as entirely against it. " The target should be 'C' category voters during the Vistarak programme. They should be convinced to vote for the BJP," he advised the cadres.

Mr. Yeddyurappa also instructed them to ensure that the party got 50 to 60 per cent of votes in each booth in the state. "If we are able to get more than 50 votes in each booth, we will definitely cross 150 plus seats in 2018 Assembly elections", he told them, adding that those attending theVistarak programme must meet with scheduled castes and tribes and other backward castes and encourage doctors, engineers and youth to join the BJP.
