TD expels Motkupally Narasimhulu from party

Earlier, Sattupalli MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah said Mr Narasimhulu had turned into a weed in a tulasi garden.

Vijayawada: The Telugu Desam expelled its Telangana state unit senior leader Motkupally Narasimhulu from the party on Monday. While he has been criticising party president and AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for some time, Mr Narasimhulu allegation on Monday that he had taken Rs 100 crore for a Rajya Sabha seat appeared to be the last straw. The remarks had created a buzz at the TD’s annual plenary meeting.

TD Telangana unit president, L. Ramana who announced the expulsion at the ongoing Mahanadu here, said that Mr Narasimhulu had been behaving in an “extreme manner”.

Talking to reporters, Mr Ra-mana said that since Mr Nar-asimhulu was convinced that he would not get a Governor’s post, he was accusing Mr Naidu unnecessarily. Mr Ra-mana took strong objection to Mr Narasimhulu comparing Telangana state Chief Mini-st-er K. Chandrasekhar Rao with TD patriarch N.T. Rama Rao.

He sad that there was no excuse for the “betrayal” of Mr Narasimhulu. After Mr Narasimhulu’s comments in Hyderabad, the TD supremo held a brief discussion about the issue with a few party senior leaders and decided to expel him.

Earlier, Sattupalli MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah said Mr Narasimhulu had “turned into a weed in a tulasi garden.” Mr Veeraiah said that it was due to Mr Narasimhulu that no leader could grow in Nalgonda district. He alleged that Mr Narasimhulu was known for blackmail politics. It was because of this that NTR did not give Mr Narasimhulu a nomination to the Assembly, Mr Veeraiah said.
