Bandi slams TRS for hindering RDS project

Sanjay also charged the state government with lying on the issue of migration of people from the Palamuru region to cities like Mumbai

Hyderabad: The Telangana government was trying to prevent progress in the Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme (RDS) irrigation project by claiming that there were technical problems, state BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar said on Friday.

Sanjay said he had met with Union jan shakti minister Gajendra Shekhawat six months ago and requested that something be done about the RDS project. Shekhawat immediately directed the Krishna River Management Board to find a solution to the issues facing the project, he said.

“But the Chief Minister does not want this project to be completed, he is ensuring no progress is made with the state raising technical issues,” Sanjay said while addressing a public meeting at Narayanpet as part of his Praja Sangrama Yatra.

Sanjay also charged the state government with lying on the issue of migration of people from the Palamuru region to cities like Mumbai.

Earlier in the day, he interacted with passengers in a Mumbai-bound TSRTC bus. He told reporters that every passenger was bound to Mumbai either in search of a job, or to join a loved one from Palamuru who had migrated in search of livelihood. “When the Chief Minister says there is reverse migration into Palamuru, he is lying. This is the reality, of people leaving in search of jobs,” Sanjay said.

He criticised the state government for not reducing value added tax on fuels which could bring the cost of petrol and diesel down in the city, and demanded an explanation as to how the Rs 69,334 crore the government earned through VAT on fuels in the past seven years was spent. The state has been robbing people, he said.

T. Raja Singh, MLA from Goshamahal constituency, addressing the public meeting said Sanjay was the best bet against the TRS, and called him a beacon for Hindus. Raja Singh said the Sanjay’s padayatra has shown how the Telangana was in support of the BJP state president, and declared that after the next elections, it would be a BJP government in the state.
