Mumbai: Braving the scorching heat and humidity, residents of Kandivali (East) have come out to cast their votes and the queue of voters has stretched to around two kilometres.
Thakur Shyamnarayan High School and College in Kandivali (E) is reported to have just one polling booth which has led to long queue. Though voters are inconvenienced but they are not complaining as they look forward to cast their votes.
Some voters appreciated the efforts of the polling officials and staff. Senior citizens and disabled people are given preference at the booth.
BJP legislator Pravin Darekar spoke to ABP Majha about the arrangements at the polling centre. He expressed his dissatisfaction at the arrangements done by the Election Commission (EC) stating that he would file a written complaint with the EC.“They should have formed more queues to facilitate the voters. There are no fans and ventilation is not sufficient. There could have been some casualties. This is a complete failure of the administration,” said Darekar.
Kandivali (E) falls under Mumbai North constituency where the key battle is between Congress’ Urmila Matondkar and BJP’s Gopal Shetty.
