VS Ugrappa files complaint against G Janardhan Reddy

Bengaluru: The KPCC on Saturday lodged a complaint with the Election Commission of India (ECI) demanding prosecution of mine baron and former minister G. Janardhan Reddy for making distasteful remarks against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

In the complaint lodged on Saturday, Mr V.S. Ugrappa, MLC, and others claimed that Mr Reddy while addressing a press conference in Molakalmuru, compared BJP candidate, B. Sreeramulu to Lord Rama and Mr Siddaramaiah to Ravana. He reportedly said Mr Sreeramulu had come to annhilate ‘Siddaravana’.

Similarly, in Badami constituency, he stated "Mother Banashankari has created Sreeramulu to finish Mr Siddaramaiah.”

Mr Ugrappa said, “This is in clear violation of IPC section 171 and section 125 of the RP Act. Therefore, we request you to initiate prosecution of Mr Janardhan Reddy and others as per the provisions of law in the interest of carrying out free and fair elections.”
