BS Yeddyurappa, HD Kumaraswamy will never become CMs again: Siddaramaiah

“It is high time the Prime Minister stopped delivering his man ki baath as it doesn't help people fill their stomachs, Siddaramaiah said.

Belagavi: Emphatic that neither state BJP president B.S. Yeddyurappa nor state JD(S) president H.D. Kumaraswamy would ever become Chief Ministers again in their lives, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said here on Saturday.

He was even willing to bet on their fathers that they had had their innings, the Chief Minister said.

Addressing a Congress rally in Hukkeri near Belagavi, he wondered how the people could vote for a party (Bharatiya Janata Party) whose national president had been to jail in a murder case when he was Home Minister of Gujarat and state president (Yeddyurappa) had been jailed when he was serving as Chief Minister of the state.

Calling the ‘sabka saath, sabka vikas’ slogan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi an eyewash, he claimed the hidden agenda of the Bharatiya Janata Party government at the Centre was to actually ensure “sab ka vinash” (destruction of all) as the Bharatiya Janata Party was against Muslims, Dalits and backward classes.

“How can this party take all people together when it is actually involved in dividing them on the lines of religion and caste in the country?'' he asked.

Mr Siddaramaiah also came down hard on the Modi government for its failure to bring down fuel prices, which were causing all other prices to skyrocket as well.

“It is high time the Prime Minister stopped delivering his man ki baath as it doesn’t help people fill their stomachs,” he added.

The Chief Minister also tore into seven-time MLA, Umesh Katti of Hukkeri, saying he was only intent on dividing the state by demanding statehood for North Karnataka.

“He wants to divide the state as he dreams of becoming its Chief Minister,” he charged.

Claiming that Mr Katti’s sugar factory was running under loss, he deplored that the MLA had not settled hundreds of crores in pending bills of sugarcane growers and was not paying his own employees their salaries.
