JD(U) demands MH Ambareesh's disqualification

Gowda alleged that Mr Ambareesh had failed to dispense his duties as an elected representative of Mandya.

Bengaluru: In what could be termed as an embarrassment for former minister M.H. Ambareesh,

Mandya district Janata Dal (United) president B.S. Gowda has petitioned legislative Assembly Speaker K.B. Koliwad seeking his disqualification from the Assembly.

Mr Gowda alleged that Mr Ambareesh had failed to dispense his duties as an elected representative of Mandya.

“His absence from the legislature session, lack of interest in executing pending works in his constituency and his failure to meet local people for over a year, has upset them. This clearly gives credence to the allegation that he has failed as a legislator,” Mr Gowda claimed.

Mr Gowda said that he had already petitioned governor Vajubhai Vala in this regard.
