Bengaluru: A ‘constitutional crisis’ seems to be fast developing over the tabling of the Anwar Manippady report regarding encroachment of wakf properties across the state with Council Chairman D.H. Shankaramurthy meeting the Governor to convey to him the government's reported reluctance to place the report before the House.
Mr Shankaramurthy and Deputy Chairman Maritibbegowda were closeted with Mr Vala and explained to him the government’s stance on the Manippady report. In the Council, proceedings were disrupted following a dharna by BJP and JD(S) members.
“As I am unable to resolve this issue, I will be meeting the governor to explain him the situation arising out of non-tabling of the report," he said and adjourned the House till 11 am on Tuesday. As soon as the House assembled, BJP members trooped into the well of the House in support of their demand.
Dr G. rules out judicial probe into Mysuru murder case
The state government has refused to order a judicial probe into the killing of RSS worker Raju in Mysuru recently.
Home Minister Dr G.Parameshwar informed the Legislative Assembly on Monday that the government will not protect anybody involved in the murder of Raju. The police have already gathered information and will soon nab the accused, he said while replying to a calling attention motion notice given by Opposition BJP.
The home department has formed a special team and appointed a DCP, three ACPs and five inspectors as part of the team which has visited various districts and also gone outside the state. The team has exchanged information with the CCB police in Bengaluru and Mangaluru police regarding the incident.
