I have not resigned, says BJP Peddapalli president

In the past few months, Satyanarayana was not happy with the district leaders who were conducting meetings without informing him

PEDDAPALLI: When the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was celebrating its win in the Dubbak byelections and performing well in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections, a social media post that former RTC chairman Somarapu Satyanarayana had resigned as BJP district unit created a buzz in political circles here on Thursday.

Right from the time Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar took charge as BJP state chief, the party had seen some key leaders from other parties, including the TRS, joining it.

To strengthen the party from the grass-root level, the party leadership recently appointed presidents for other districts and gave good positions to the loyalists.

But from the past few months, Satyanarayana was not happy with the district leaders who were conducting meetings without informing him. He even took the issue to the notice of the party leadership and expressed deep concern.

The social media post came against this backdrop, and alleged that Satyanarayana had sent his resignation letter to party leadership because of alleged group politics and his being ignored.

However, putting the records straight, Satyanarayana said that he had not resigned but had only mentioned how he was being sidelined and how the district committee appointed by him four months back was yet to get the nod.
