Tension up as YSRC summons four Vizag MLAs

Visakhapatnam: YSRC high command has summoned MLAs Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar from Visakhapatnam South, Adeep Raj from Pendurthi, Karanam Dharmashree from Chodavaram and Golla Baburao from Payakaraopeta to Vijayawada for a meeting with Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

It may be recalled that Jagan has made his intention clear to allot the YSRC ticket only to winning horses. To start with, he changes in-charges of the constituencies. Now, the CM is keen on dealing with the MLAs.

Thus, the summons from YSRC high command has charged up the atmosphere in Visakhapatnam. There is already talk that minister Gudivada Amarnath will be contesting from the Chodavaram seat. Amarnath's followers are fuelling the campaign that Dharmashri is on the way out.

In Visakhapatnam South constituency, there is serious opposition to Vasupalli Ganesh. There are two to three factions within YSRC that are competing for the South seat. Given the background, whether or not Jagan will stand by Ganesh is a million-dollar question.

There is also news that Pendurthi MLA Adeep Raju has tarnished his own image by getting involved in the Mudapaka lands issue. Thus people are against him. Despite this, Adeep Raj is hoping to get the ticket with regional YSRC coordinator Y.V. Subba Reddy's blessings. But the call from high command indicates that he too may be in soup.

A former APPSC Group-I officer, Payakaraopeta MLA Golla Babu Rao has been accused of not maintaining friendly relationships with local YSRC leaders. Now, he has been called to Vijayawada to meet the CM.

Key developments within the YSRC party are expected once Jagan Mohan Reddy meets the four MLAs.
