HYDERABAD: Goshamahal legislator T. Raja Singh alleged that there was a shortage of forms intended for distribution among the public to access schemes under the Praja Palna. In his constituency, approximately 24 centres were established for beneficiaries, but the available forms ranged from 100 to 200. Despite the footfall exceeding 1,000 people at these centres, the available forms
were inadequate, with just 100 to 200 forms provided. Raja Singh claimed that despite reminders during a meeting with municipal officials the previous day, no tangible solutions were implemented.
In a video grab from one of the centres, Raja Singh asserted that his suggestions to increase the number of application forms were ignored. Additionally, he pointed out the lack of FAQs (frequently asked questions) in the media on how to apply for the schemes. According to Singh, this oversight has led to a shortage of application forms, and people are now being instructed to write applications on white paper to request pensions and ration card schemes.
Singh expressed concern that the Congress may be trying to deceive people in
the name of availing Praja Palana schemes. He argued that the allotted eight-day period for completing the exercise was insufficient and advocated for an extension of at least a month. Raja Singh intends to request the Chief Minister to grant people more time and ensure an adequate supply of forms to the centres.
