Expired Modi medicine' will not work for LS polls, says Revanth

Hyderabad: Expressing confidence of the Congress coming to power at the Centre in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy likened Prime Minister Narendra Modi to “expired medicine”, claiming it would not work the parliamentary elections.

“Every medicine has an expiry date and Narendra Modi medicine will not work in the country in 2024 Lok Sabha polls as it crossed the expiry date,” he said, urging party functionaries to work hard for the next 100 days to form the government at the Centre.

Addressing a public rally in Nagpur to mark the 139th foundation day of the Congress, he said the next 100 days were crucial for the party and the country.

“Inform your family members that you are taking leave for 100 days from them and working for the party so that a Congress-led government can be formed at the Centre,” Revanth Reddy told party workers.

Taking a dig at the BJP’s tagline of double-engine governance, Revanth Reddy said: “Double engine government actually means Adani and Pradhani, as PM Modi works only for the development of his friend Adani. One day, Rahul Gandhi spoke about industrialist Gautam Adani in the Lok Sabha, due to which the Adani engine developed a problem and had to be taken to the shed. Same will be the future of Pradhani as well.”

Terming the route map of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra as a route map for victory, he said that the Congress came to power in Karnataka and Telangana against the backdrop of the yatra. “Rahul's yatra will now enter Maharashtra and Congress will come to power in Maharashtra,” Revanth Reddy said.

Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and several Cabinet ministers were in Nagpur to take part in party's foundation day celebrations, returning to Hyderabad by a special flight on Thursday.
