V. Srinivas Goud, said on Friday that the younger generation is looking forward to Mr Rama Rao’s leadership.

Hyderabad: Fuelling speculation in the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti that party working president K T Rama Rao will be crowned soon as Chief Minister, excise minister V. Srinivas Goud, said on Friday that the younger generation is looking forward to Mr Rama Rao’s leadership.

While addressing a press conference in Telangana Bhavan, he said that Telangana will in future progress under the leadership of Mr Rama Rao.

He said that the “entire world” is looking at Telangana, the nation is looking at TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao, and Telangana is looking at Mr Rama Rao.

It’s a longstanding assumption in the party and political circles in the state that Mr Chandrasekhar Rao will step down as Chief Minister and his son Rama Rao will take the legacy forward in the state, while Mr Chandrasekhar Rao takes an active part in national politics.

The excise minister had got somewhat sidetracked when he made these comments since the press conference he was addressing was called to counter the allegations made by the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party with regard to the municipal elections.

Mr Goud said the Congress and the BJP were provoking religious and caste sentiments whenever there were elections in the state and country.

He said that both parties believe in divisive politics because they cannot seek votes by highlighting any good work they have done for the public.

Mr Goud dared BJP leaders of the state to get even `1 lakh from the Centre for the use of the state.
