KCR expresses concern over similar symbols

He said that 15 TRS candidates had lost almost 10,000 votes due to this confusion.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday requested Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora to ensure that symbols like iron box, camera and truck, which resemble the TRS symbol of car, are not allotted in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Mr Rao met Mr Arora in Delhi and brought it to his notice that the voters confused by similar symbols during the recent elections. He appealed to the CEC to ensure that voters do not get confused with the symbols and similar names of contesting candidates. He thanked Mr Arora and the EC for conducting the Assembly polls peacefully.

TRS MP Vinod Kumar said after the meeting that Mr Rao had explained to Mr Arora that the TRS had faced loss of votes with the truck symbol being allotted to other candidates as the voters were confused between the two. He said that 15 TRS candidates had lost almost 10,000 votes due to this confusion.
