Political Landscape Will Change After TS Polls, Says Sachin Pilot

Hyderabad: Rajasthan Congress president Sachin Pilot on Monday said the political landscape in Telangana would change after Assembly elections.

“A wave of change is expected to happen and the same might lead to a change nationally, he said, addressing a press conference in Gandhi Bhavan in Nampally.

“We are fighting the Assembly elections in Telangana after a resounding victory in Karnataka. The Congress earlier defeated BJP in Himachal Pradesh,” Pilot explained.

Given the response to road shows and public meetings addressed by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi and AICC president M. Mallikarjuna Kharge in the state, the former Rajasthan deputy chief minister said the Congress would get a decisive mandate in Telangana.

“If the Congress was elected in Telangana, then the new government would implement the manifesto in a transparent manner with commitment,” he said, stating that Telangana would witness a major transformation after the Congress was elected to power.

Launching a scathing attack on the BRS government, Pilot said the BRS had failed to fulfill the assurances given to the people after formation of Telangana state. “When smaller states are created, they progress at a fast pace and at the same time create more employment opportunities,” he said.

The main reason for carving out a state was to provide jobs and to develop the state. Unfortunately, the BRS government ignored it and its credibility was now in question, he alleged.

On Rajasthan, Pilot said the people would break the tradition of changing the government every five years. “We are going to create a history in Rajasthan this time as we are winning elections in Rajasthan once again,” he said.

To a question on who would be the Chief Ministerial candidate in Rajasthan if the Congress was re-elected, Pilot said the high command would take a final decision after collecting feedback from the MLAs and the same procedure would be followed in other states as well.
