Hyderabad: The Saidabad police on Monday registered cases against five AIMIM supporters for the violation of model code of conduct for assaulting an autorickshaw driver flying the flag of a rival party. Saidabad police received a complaint from Mohd. Saleem (33), who stated that an MIM activist, Rizwan, stopped his vehicle and slapped him for displaying the MBT flag. When Saleem tried to escape, four of Rizwan’s associates stopped him near the Hanafia mosque, in Saidabad and assaulted him.
Based on Saleem’s complaint, police took up investigation and arrested Mohammed, and Mohd Khadeeruddin of Saidabad. Another accused, Akram, and two others at large. Police seized a motorcycle used by the gang, said southeast zone DCP B. Rohit Raju.
