KCR Blames Congress For Bar on Rythu Bandhu Disbursements

Says Cong. obstructing welfare schemes, BJP hindering development by not giving funds

Hyderabad: Hours after the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday withdrew permission for dispensing the Rythu Bandhu monetary aid to farmers, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao blamed the Congress for obstructing its implementation.

Addressing public meetings at Shadnagar, Chevella, Andole and Sangareddy on the day, Rao appealed to voters to support BRS candidates for continuous development of Telangana state.

He lashed out at the Congress over its leaders claiming three hours of power would suffice for agriculture, its opposition to the Dharani portal and obstructing the implementation of the Rythu Bandhu scheme.

Promising to enhance old-age pensions from Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000, the Chief Minister called on people to think twice before casting their votes.

“Your vote will decide the future of Telangana. The BRS introduced a number of public welfare schemes, such as Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak, old-age pensions and others. A number of irrigation projects have been brought into force to provide water for agriculture. In near future, irrigation and drinking water will be extended to people of Sangareddy,” Rao said.

He also hit out at the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not granting more funds to the state. He said that as per rules, the Central government must set up medical colleges and Navodaya schools in each state, but the Prime Minister failed to provide funds for Telangana.

“I ask you to think twice before casting the vote. All voters must compare the development works done by BRS in the past 10 years and Congress in the past 50 years. Don't waste your vote on polling day and support BRS candidates to form the BRS government in Telangana for the third consecutive time,” Chief Minister said.

“The BRS government supplies 24 hours of free power for agriculture. But the Congress leaders promised to provide only three hours of power if they came to power. Do you want a 24-hour power supply or a three-hour power supply? If you want a 24-hour power supply, you must support the BRS candidates,” Rao said.

He said that the BRS government worked hard for three years to bring in the Dharani portal to streamline land records. “If the Congress comes to power in Telangana…its leaders said they would throw Darani into the Bay of Bengal. Do you want the Dharani portal to protect your lands?” the Chief Minister said at each meeting.
