BJP’s 10-day statewide dharna from today

Bid to pressurise KCR into reducing prices of diesel, petrol

Hyderabad: The state unit of the BJP has chalked out a 10-day agitation programme across all mandals and district headquarters, beginning on Monday, demanding the state government to reduce petrol and diesel prices from November 29.

The party’s state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Sunday called upon workers to sustain a spirited fight till Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao reduces petrol and diesel prices. Apart from dharnas, party activists will take out rallies on bullock carts on Monday and Tuesday.

BJYM workers will stage protests in all district headquarters holding placards and wearing black badges on December 1, while the mahila wing will hold massive protests the next day. Protests will be carried out by SC morcha (Dec. 3), by OBCs (Dec.4), STs (Dec. 5), Kisans (Dec. 6) and minorities on December 7.

Sanjay said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, notwithstanding economic constraints triggered by the pandemic, had reduced petrol and diesel prices by Rs five and Rs 10, respectively. In response to his call, 23 states, including those ruled by the Congress, reduced prices to lessen people’s burden, he said.

Sanjay alleged that Chandrashekhar Rao is not merely being obstinate but also sadistically insensitive to the whole issue.
