Tension at Congress Bus Yatra as Congress Workers Clashed with Karnataka Farmers

HYDERABAD: Tension prevailed in Tandur, Parigi and Vikarabad ahead of Congress bus yatra on Saturday as party workers clashed with Karnataka farmers who had arrived from across the state border to highlight power cuts to the agriculture sector in that state and to canvass Telangana voters not to believe in the promises being made by party.

The farmers, carrying placards and raising slogans, said the Congress government in Karnataka had failed to provide even five hours of power to agriculture sector, as against the 24x7 power for farmers in Telangana. They said they were getting power supply at night, and they faced a threat to life when they went to water their fields in the dark.

Congress workers attempted to obstruct the rally, snatched the placards and tore them up. This led to arguments and Congress workers accused BRS leaders of bringing some 'paid artistes' to obstruct the Congress bus yatra and defame the party.
