BJP BC leaders extend gratitude to PM for offering CM post for BCs

Hyderabad: Alleging that the ruling BRS party and Congress party have betrayed BC communities for the past few decades, the OBC leaders in BJP on Saturday said the BJP has taken a bold decision to make a BC candidate as Chief Minister if the BJP comes to power in Telangana.

The BJP BC leaders on Saturday expressed their gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National President J P Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for taking such a decision in offering Chief Minister post for BC candidates.

The BJP MLA Etala Rajender said that the ruling BRS party betrayed BCs, SCs and STs for not providing cabinet portfolios for the past few years. The Congress party and ruling BRS party have influenced BCs, SCs and STs by accepting their votes but forgot in providing opportunities.

"During the National Executive Meeting held in Delhi, the BJP under leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a decision to offer the Chief Minister post for BCs in Telangana. The BC population is more than 52 percent in Telangana and the BRS, Congress parties failed to give priority to BCs. A concrete decision has been taken for offering Chief Minister post for BCs in Telangana," Rajender said.

The Rajya Sabha MP K Laxman said that the BJP is also offering more tickets for BC candidates after providing 12 tickets SCs and eight tickets for STs. More than 45 tickets were given for BCs to contest in the ensuing Assembly elections.

The former MP Boora Narsaiah Goud said that they expressed gratitude for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President J P Nadda for giving an opportunity for BCs to occupy Chief Minister's post. The BJP made a Dalit woman as President, minority person as President and BC candidate for Prime Minister. In Telangana, the BC candidate would become Chief Minister if BJP comes to power.
